photos app unexpected error

Whenever i open my photos app an error message pops up and the app forces me to quit it. Is there a way to fix it myself? or Would i have to take my imac to apple. I have the late 2015 model, 27 in with i5 3.2 ghz. And my mac is less than 3 months old.
